The Environment and Health Non-Government Organization

OSU-Cascades "sustainable development/sustainability" communication class members have decided to simulate a non-government organization (NGO) that works on environment and health issues, such as water sanitation and safety. During class on Monday night 11 April we will refine this idea, discussing such as matters as mission, goals, and site.

I have been working on a possible logo and name of our company... I will post some rough draft ideas later, does anyone have any ideas for a name? I was trying to combine spanish/english into the name since that is our focus location.... and could help address respect for their culture as well

I look forward to seeing your ideas!

Engineers without borders..projects like we are working on.

Here are a few ideas that I came up with, some of them could be used for other teams as well.

1.Approach schools, find a teacher that is excited about doing a project with the class that helps with fundraising, pr or? I say all grades, middle, high school. Approach the Community College for some professional help, give students a hands on project.

2.Check with the University of choice that maybe has or is working on projects like this. Get them to incorporate the project into an internship or a trip to South America..College folks earning credit to work for project. Free to our project.

On the Engineers without Borders website..the project that is El Salvador-candelaria de la Frontera, Colorado State University, San Antonio Abad water project. My friend Heather Coleman is the Peace Corp volunteer mentioned on this project. I can ask her any questions about this project. So let me know if anyone needs any specifics.

I have changed the settings on the Blog to accommodate graphics materials (pictures, photos). I am going to experiment to see if this can be done.

ProfWalk said...

I have also changed the setting to allow links. Let's try one - this is for the "Communication Initiative Network."

I wanted to make sure there was nothing else that other groups need for their presentation. I believe that our group (funding and marketing)answered everyones questions and needs let us know

leah said...

I think we are good to go!
